Fiona Yeo
Teacher
Fiona’s dance journey began at the age of 9 with Chinese Dance, and she has since developed a diverse and highly skilled repertoire through rigorous training in Ballet and Modern Jazz under June Lee, and Modern and Contemporary dance with esteemed mentors, including Xu Jie, Peter Teo, Zaki Ahmad, and Dan Kwoh. Her dedication and artistry have earned her prestigious awards at prominent competitions such as the Barcelona Dance Grand Prix, the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing, and the Singapore Youth Festival, positioning her as a distinguished performer within the dance community.
As a soloist, Fiona made her debut in INTENSI-5 2018, choreographed by Dr. Stephanie Burridge, and further solidified her artistic standing as a finalist in high-profile competitions, including The Royal Dance Off Solo and The Flux Collective Dance Competition.
Fiona's choreographic career took flight at Singapore Management University, where she contributed to numerous student-choreographed performances as a member of SMU INDANCITY and SMU Caderas Latinas. Her choreographic works have been showcased on prestigious platforms such as dSPACE, which highlights emerging artists. During the pandemic, Fiona was a key member of the creative team behind T.R.A.C.E, a virtual contemporary dance production for the SMU Arts Festival 2020, as well as SMU INDANCITY BEYOND 2021, where her innovative approach to dance was recognized.
In 2021, Fiona joined the teaching faculty at DANSTUDIO, where she further advanced her professional qualifications, completing her diploma studies in Dance Education at the University of Bath and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Achieving her RAD Registered Teacher status in August 2022, Fiona continues to make significant contributions to the dance education field, cementing her role as a respected and influential figure in the industry.
